Finding Professionals

The Welcoming Center works with companies of all sizes and jobseekers of all levels.  One of our targeted services is connecting professional-level workers with companies who need their specific skill set

Our services for immigrant professionals help highly-educated immigrants with professional experience to prepare for and navigate the American job market.  We also work with companies who are recruiting professionals in specialized fields. If you are seeking to fill positions that require a bachelor's or graduate-level degree, and/or specialized experience, contact our director of employment services Yana Chernov at 215-557-2864.

Attention healthcare companies: the Welcoming Center now provides training to work-authorized immigrants, many with multiple language skills and a desire to begin a career-path job.

In 2010, the Welcoming Center started the Healthcare Career Training Program to provide training and job placement in healthcare careers such as home health aides and certified nurse aides. Entry-level jobs in the healthcare industry can be a successful career gateway for immigrant jobseekers. Creating this employment match helps employers too, especially those looking to fill positions during late shifts or with patients with language needs.

Topics of the training include: Core Healthcare Skills, Creating a Safe Environment, Responding to Emergencies, Personal Care Skills, and Effective Communication Skills.

Graduates of our home health aide program must pass an employer-approved certification test.  Graduates of our certified nurse aide program must pass a training course at one of our partner training centers (such as Clinical Pathways) and take supplemental language and workplace training at the Welcoming Center. Upon completion of the training they must pass a state CNA certification test.

COMPANIES WHO HAVE ALREADY JOINED US IN THIS INITIATIVE INCLUDE:

  • Vitacare Home Health
  • Elite Home Care
  • Ameribest Home Care
  • Infinite Home Health Agency, Inc.
