Description: Paralegals can provide increased profitability for your firm by increasing revenue and decreasing costs. This seminar will help attorneys and other legal professionals recognize the array of tasks that can be delegated to paralegals to create efficient services and effective teams within the bounds of ethical constraints. The path to improving the delivery of legal service requires legal employers to extensively, appropriately utilize skilled paralegals, increasing client service and improving the practice of law. Learn how to take advantag of the knowledge and skills of paralegals to improve your bottom line from a practicing attorney who is also a paralegal educator.

This program is appropriate for both criminal attorneys and immigration attorneys.

This workshop is most appropriate for criminal attorneys, attorneys new to immigration and BIA accredited representatives appearing before the Immigration Court.

Description: Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has stepped up enforcement efforts in response to the problems effecting students and institutions of higher education. Students - and their attorneys - must take the greatest of care to ensure compliance with all requirements of the F-1 program. This seminar will help immigration attorneys to better protect their F-1 clients, and educate students on how to protect themselves.   
 

Options for immigrant and non-immigrant visas will also be discussed including:

  • Optional Practical Training (OPT), STEM OPT, and Curricular Practical Training (CPT);
  • H-1B Visas and F-1/H-1B Cap-Gap;
  • H-1B Cap (FY2015, FY2016); and
  • Alternatives to the H-1B visa.
