Pathways to Success

If you have arrived at this page, you are probably looking for information on the Welcoming Center's seminars for immigrant professionals.

These free evening events help work-authorized immigrants who were educated outside the U.S. to understand the path to a professional career in this country.

The agenda includes presentations by experienced staff from the Welcoming Center, World Education Services (WES), and a local college or university.  In addition, human resources staff from leading Philadelphia-area businesses share their perspectives on what makes for a successful job candidate.

Topics typically include:

  • How to get international credentials or degrees evaluated
  • When it makes sense to apply for occupational licensing
  • Why to consider additional courses at an American university
  • What to expect in a US professional job interview
  • How to prepare yourself as a candidate for professional jobs

Who should attend?Immigrants who have:

  • Legal work authorization  
  • A bachelor's or graduate degree in a medical or healthcare-related field, from a college or university outside the US
  • An interest in building a successful American career
