Welcoming Center West
Welcoming Center West is a neighborhood-based resource center for small business owners from around the world, and from just down the street. Opened in 2007, this satellite office of the nonprofit Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians serves merchants and residents along West Philadelphia's commercial corridors. Welcoming Center West provides opportunities for meaningful cross-ethnic collaboration between native-born and immigrant Philadelphians.
Today, immigrant merchants typically make up 50 to 70% of storeowners in Philadelphia's commercial corridors.
Welcoming Center West was created to serve the needs of both the immigrant and native-born populations, providing Support for Small Businesses and Fostering Community Integration.
